Mrs. Levisay's First Grade Class

About Me

Hi! I'm Melissa Levisay (former Ms. Rekieta) and welcome to first grade! I look forward to teaching your child this year. This is my eleventh year to teach at Roland Reynolds Elementary. I know this year will be great, and we will have so much fun learning!

To get to know me a little better, I'll tell you a little about myself. I grew up in the small town of Bremond, Tx, right down the road from Franklin, Tx. I attended and graduated from Bremond I.S.D. in 2008. After graduation I moved to College Station, and attended Blinn College for two years while working on my basics. I've always knew that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, so after basics I transferred to Sam Houston State University to fulfill my dream. I arrived at Sam Houston in the Fall of 2010. I received my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in May 2013. I am certified to teach Early Childhood through sixth grade.

Teaching has always been my passion. Early on in life I knew being a teacher was my life calling. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of children, and watching them become successful members of society. I believe every child can succeed given the right support. My goal this year is to help and encourage your child to have a love for learning! I hope after our year together is up, that your child walks away from my class knowing that he\she is a bright, intelligent child who can accomplish anything they set their mind to.
